Klopp provides transfer update on ‘exceptional’ Bellingham

It’s certainly not normal to hear Jurgen Klopp talk about players from other clubs, so hearing him praise one of our main transfer targets is an interesting thing, even more so when that target is Jude Bellingham.

Addressing the media ahead of the Aston Villa game, the 55-year-old said: “I don’t like to talk about money when you talk about a player like him. Everyone can see that it is simply outstanding.

“If you mention to someone that they don’t have a clue about football: ‘How old do you think Jude Bellingham is?’ I don’t think anyone else comes close to his age. They would say 28 or 29 because he plays very mature. He had an exceptional World Cup. Absolutely exceptional. With all the things he has and the things he can improve, to describe him he would say that the things he can do are hard to learn, and the things he can improve are easy to learn. He is a very good player.

“What can I say? I’ve thought about it already for two or three years since he had his breakthrough at Dortmund. Everybody already knew about it, but I have no idea what that means for money. I really think if everyone “We want to do him a favor so let’s not talk too much about money. I’m saying this from England’s point of view. Don’t put any obstacles in his development.”

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield for a long time, but many expected that finalizing a deal would be next to impossible, but continuous updates from trusted sources have continued to raise our supporters’ collective hopes.

Although it is clear from what the manager has said that money is and always will be a stumbling block, this is another positive take on the fact that we are clearly interested and in the running for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
