Klopp favourite to help fill Potter void & goalkeeper set for Newcastle – Latest LFC News – Liverpool FC

After Chelsea confirmed Graham Potter as their new head coach, Brighton revealed that one of Jurgen Klopp’s favorite former Liverpool players will help fill his void, while a former Reds goalkeeper will join Newcastle.

A new manager in the making?

Unsurprisingly, Graham Potter was confirmed today as Chelsea’s new head coach, a day after Thomas Tuchel was sacked.

But when Brighton revealed the staff that would help replace Potter as they look for a permanent replacement, the inclusion of a former Liverpool player took some by surprise.

Adam Lallana, who left the Reds for the Seagulls in 2020, will be among the staff taking charge of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth this weekend, along with under-21 boss Andrew Crofts.

There he will face former Liverpool Under-21 manager Gary O’Neil!

Klopp has previously praised Lallana as one of the smartest players he has ever coached, and when the midfielder left the club, he made it clear that he had aspirations to one day become a manager.

However, having played a major role in Brighton’s successful start to the season as a player, no one expected him to step into a managerial role so soon.

Lallana is currently injured, and his sideline position is likely to be only temporary for now, with Brighton expected to appoint a full-time head coach in the coming weeks.

Tweet of the day and game of the night

Luis Diaz was probably the pick of a very poor group for Liverpool last night, and his goal against Crystal Palace has rightly been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month award. Some hit.

I’m not sure you’ll fancy more European football after last night, but if you do, the Europa League returns tonight.

Arsenal face Zurich in one of the first matches, Manchester United host Real Sociedad and West Ham play FCSB in the Europa Conference League.

Liverpool loan Billy Koumetio could also be in action for Austria Vienna against Hapoel Be’er Sheva. Enjoy your Thursday nights, Reds!
