Klopp confirms injuries to key Liverpool duo suffered during Arsenal clash

Liverpool suffered yet another defeat at the hands of Arsenal today as the Reds’ season goes from bad to worse but the blow suffered has become even greater as Jurgen Klopp has confirmed injuries to Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Today’s 3-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium leaves Liverpool in 10th place in the Premier League and it doesn’t get any easier as the Reds face Manchester City next weekend at Anfield.

It looks like Klopp could be without the key duo Alexander-Arnold and Diaz for that clash and for the foreseeable future, as both were injured during the match at the Emirates.

Alexander-Arnold is believed to have suffered an ankle injury, while Diaz left the stadium today wearing a knee brace, the Gunner Blog reports.

This is a huge blow for Liverpool as Diaz has been the club’s most consistent player this season and he showed it again today by setting up Darwin Nunez for the Reds’ first goal.

As for Alexander-Arnold, the right-back has been in poor form during the first part of the campaign but remains one of Klopp’s most creative outlets.

It is not clear as of now how serious the injuries are, but what Klopp said after the match does not sound good.
