Klopp admits he knew something was wrong with LFC after one challenge

Jurgen Klopp faced the media and had many opportunities to discuss what went wrong against Napoli, something for which he had many answers.

Speaking before the match with Ajax, the 55-year-old said: “When James Milner comes in too late for a challenge and we lose challenges where we would normally win them, you know something is wrong.

“There are already four or five days of absolute truth. We didn’t hide anything, we didn’t hide anything, there was no need for that.

“We just told it like it is, but not to bring players down or whatever, just to make sure that where we are now is the starting point for us and make sure we solve problems together on the pitch.

“They didn’t point fingers at each other, that was the beauty of the game.”

Certainly this isn’t a direct criticism of James Milner by the boss, rather he says that if even our vice-captain wasn’t performing in Italy, he knew it would be a bad night.

It was certainly a night to forget and all the players will come out to impress at Anfield, as an apology to the fans present in Napoli and watching from home.
