Kevin Campbell urged Arsenal to sign Leandro Trossard

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has asked his former club to sign Brighton and Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard.

Trossard has been a consistent performer for Brighton since joining from Genk in the summer window of 2019. He has made 111 Premier League appearances for the south coast club so far, registering 24 goals and 12 assists.

His performances for the Seagulls have also earned him a place on the Belgium national team. He has scored five goals in 21 appearances for the North West European nation so far. Trossard is expected to be included in the Red Devils’ final squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

While speaking to Football Insider recently, Kevin Campbell believes that Leandro Trossard will be a good addition to the Arsenal squad. He said: “I think Trossard would be a good signing. I think he would thrive at Arsenal. He would be a squad player, one who could rotate in and out of the team and there would be no dropout.

I think he is a very good player. He is very intelligent, has good movement and can finish. In my opinion, it would be a smart move.” Trossard is in the final year of his contract at Amex Stadium. Arsenal and Chelsea have shown interest in signing him in a Bosman deal next summer.

The Gunners have enjoyed an excellent summer window of 2022. Mikel Arteta spent over £100m to bring in reinforcements for his side. His brilliant work in the transfer market has paid off on the pitch.

The London outfit have won nine of their first 11 league games. They are currently top of the Premier League table, two points clear of Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Emery had been in charge of Villarreal since 2020. He won the Europa League with the Yellow Submarine during his debut season, also guiding them to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last year. Aston Villa reportedly paid a €6m buyout fee for the 50-year-old manager.
