The undisputed women’s lightweight champion, Ireland’s Katie Taylor will return to the ring and to the UK next month.
Matchroom Boxing announced Wednesday afternoon that Taylor, fresh off her dramatic decision win over Amanda Serrano at New York’s Madison Square Garden earlier this year, will face Argentina’s Karen Carabajal in London.

Taylor (21-0, 6 KOs) cemented herself as the best female fighter on the planet by besting Amanda Serrano in an epic fight for history on an iconic night at New York’s sold-out Madison Square Garden earlier this year. .
The Irish superstar retained her undisputed world lightweight title after a Fight of the Year contender with Puerto Rico’s Serrano, the first women’s boxing match to headline the famed MSG in its 140-year history.
Argentina’s Carabajal (19-0, 2 KOs) is undefeated in her 19 professional contests since surrendering in August 2013 and the 32-year-old from Buenos Aires is a former Latin, South American and Argentine WBC super featherweight champion. and she is promoted by Argentine legend Marcos Maidana.
Chatteris European featherweight champion Jordan Gill (27-1-1, 8 KOs) puts his title on the line for the first time against Spanish two-weight world champion Kiko Martinez (43-11-2, 30 KOs) in a fight that also works as an eliminator for the IBF world title in the hands of Josh Warrington.

It was believed that Taylor and Serrano would meet again during this time period after their tremendous battle. However, Serrano has had previous issues with Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn over purse money and complained that the offer to fight Taylor in his home region was not substantial enough.
Instead, seven-time world champion Serrano will fight Saturday night in Manchester, England on the Joe Joyce-Joseph Parker heavyweight undercard there.
