Juventus wins the race for 17-year-old winger Gianmarco Di Biase

While the winter transfer session has so far been uneventful at Juventus, the club continues to bolster its youth ranks which have been flourishing of late.

According to Ilbianconero, Juventus have won the race against Gianmarco Di Biase, a 17-year-old winger who currently plays for Pistoiese.

The teenager who grew up in Empoli was promoted to Pistoise’s senior team last summer and has been playing regularly in Serie D matches. His campaign started on an exciting note, racking up seven goals and two assists in his first 17 appearances in the league.

The source adds that the Tuscan certainly had no shortage of suitors. According to reports, the first team to knock on the door was Udinese. Interest from the likes of Torino and Inter followed, with Palermo joining the queue recently.

However, it was the old woman who finally prevailed in the race. The report therefore expects Di Biase to join Massimo Brambilla’s Juventus Next Gen and subsequently make his Serie C debut.

In recent years, a plethora of formidable talents have flocked to the club. With the likes of Fabio Miretti, Nicolo Fagioli and Matias Soulé becoming regular members of Max Allegri’s first team, the young hopefuls now have valid reason to believe that they may one day become mainstays at the club.
