Juventus reportedly wants to sign Lecce youngster Joan Gonzalez

Joan González left Barcelona for Lecce last season after being deemed not good enough to break into the Barça first team.

Lecce allowed him to continue development in their youth team before promoting him to their first team this season, a move that has proven to be smart.

He is now challenging more experienced players for a place in the squad and has been noticed by Juventus, which could see them make a move for him.

A report on Tuttomercatoweb reveals that the bianconeri are interested in the 20-year-old Spaniard and could sign him in the summer.

Juve FC says

We have some budding young midfielders on our books now, and González could struggle to play if he joins us soon.

We signed players like Nicolo Rovella and we can’t find room for him in our squad right now, which is a clear sign that Gonzalez will have trouble playing as well.

It doesn’t make much sense to sign him now that he has yet to play 10 professional league games for Lecce.

However, if we allow him to spend more time and develop further, we’ll sign him as a more successful player in two seasons or less. Patience is key.
