Juventus make Benfica man their first choice left-back target – Grimaldo

Juventus have linked up with a number of players in their quest to bolster their position at left-back. The man likely to get the nod, though, is Alex Grimaldo, according to a Tuttosport report.

The Spaniard plays for Benfica, where he has become one of the most successful players in his position across the continent.

His contract expires at the end of this season, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to extend it after ignoring contract offers from the Portuguese side so far.

The report reveals that there are several names on Juve’s watch list, including Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi. However, Grimaldo currently leads the way as he has achievements and comes with no transfer fee.

Juve FC says

Grimaldo has performed very well for Benfica and is one of the reasons why they remain a top team in European competitions in recent seasons.

He has the experience to fit right into our team if we add him to our team, but he has other suitors, so we need to act fast.

When he can talk to other clubs in January, we need him to reach a pre-contract agreement as quickly as possible.

If he too wants to play for a top tier club for top honours, he should also agree to join us.
