Juventus Gets Boost as Federico Chiesa Returns From Injury

Serie A giants Juventus have received a huge boost as Italian international Federico Chiesa has finally returned from injury.

After dominating Serie A for an entire decade, Juventus have not even managed to finish in the top three in their last two seasons.

This time, they are off to a very poor start. Juventus have won just five of their first eleven matches so far. With nineteen points from these eleven games, they are in eighth position in the table.

Their form in the Champions League has been even worse. Juventus have lost three of their first four Champions League games this season. They are about to be eliminated from the group stage. To sum up their performance, Juventus have lost a match against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa this season.

Juventus gets boost as Federico Chiesa returns from injury

The main reason for the fall of Juventus in this period has been the multiple injuries of its star players.

But now it finally looks like they’ve gotten a big boost. Italian winger Federico Chiesa is in the final stages of his comeback. Chiesa has been sidelined since last January when he suffered an ACL injury.

At that time, it was thought that he might return much sooner. But the Juventus management did not risk a possible relapse. But now the winger is one step closer to his recovery.

He recently played 45 minutes in a friendly match that was played at the Continassa training ground. The match was actually played between the members of Juventus’ U-19 and U-17 teams.

In 45 minutes, Chiesa scored two goals and looked decent. However, it is just another small step towards his return. He is currently not ready to play for the senior team. The winger will still need a long time to be in top form. Surely, however, he is heading in the right direction.

Meanwhile, Allegri’s side have suffered another injury problem as Argentine midfielder Leandro Parades has been sidelined for at least two weeks with a thigh injury.

Parades joined the Bianconeri at the start of this season. Since then, he has become an important member of the Allegri team. He made a substitute appearance in Juventus’ 4–0 victory over Monza. But after the match, the midfielder felt some pain.

Later, Juventus confirmed that the midfielder has been diagnosed with a low-grade injury to the biceps femoris of the left thigh. So he will need at least 15 days to recover from this injury.

Juventus will play Benfica in their next match.
