Juventus defender Danilo suffers an injury at the World Cup

Juventus defender Danilo has suffered an ankle injury and will not play in another group game for Brazil at the World Cup.

The defender is a key player for his country and was on the team that faced Serbia in their first World Cup game.

The Brazilians won 2-0, but it cost them two key men, reveals a Football Italia report.

Both Neymar and Danilo suffered ankle injuries that will sideline them until the end of the group stage.

The next time they will play would be in the round of 16 if the Selecao qualify.

Juve FC says

Danilo is one of Juventus’ fittest players and the defender rarely gets injured.

This injury will be a blow to his country, but we hope he will recover well and come back stronger than he is now.

We also hope that it will not extend beyond the expected period or even after the World Cup. Because he is a key player for us and we need him in top form after the tournament.

Brazil have a plethora of stars in their squad and should easily replace both players in their next two games.
