Juventus CEO insists they do not owe Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus have been accused of signing a secret deal to pay Cristiano Ronaldo outstanding salaries out of their budget and now it is causing them some trouble.

The Bianconeri are fighting on several fronts over these deals and could face heavy fines if proven guilty.

When they signed Ronaldo in 2018, most fans were shocked by the way the transfer fee and his salary increased, but they were soon exposed.

When covid-19 hit, it was obvious it would be a problem paying him and they agreed to make payments outside of his budget, which is illegal.

They are supposed to pay the former Manchester United player at least 20 million euros, but their CEO Maurizio Arrivabene insists they don’t owe him any money.

He said via Football Italia:

“As far as I know, we have no debts with ronaldo.”

Juve FC says

The club has maintained that it has done nothing wrong, so we do not expect the CEO to have a different opinion or information.

The prosecution will have a hard time proving this case if the bianconeri insist they have always done the right thing.

We expect them to maintain the same position throughout the trial and the prosecutors must find ways to prove their guilt, which will be difficult.
