Juventus anxiously awaiting Vlahovic; Physical tests expected

Despite his dubious fitness, Dusan Vlahovic was hell-bent on joining the Serb for the 2022 World Cup.

Unfortunately for the Balkans, their campaign was disappointing and ended with just one point won in an entertaining 3-3 draw against Cameroon.

For his part, the Juventus striker only started in the last group stage match against Switzerland and, despite scoring a goal, it was not enough to save his country.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Vlahovic will return to Continassa this week to join Max Allegri’s training camp.

The source explains that the Bianconeri were eagerly awaiting the return of the striker who has not played for the club since the Champions League defeat at the hands of Benfica on 25 October.

The 22-year-old has been dealing with recurring pubic pain for several months, becoming one of the unsolved mysteries for the medical body.

The report expects the former Fiorentina player to undergo various tests following his return to Turin to understand how his condition developed during his time away.

In addition, the club’s medical staff were reportedly in contact with their Serbian national team counterparts regarding the player’s physical condition.

Juventus will hope to have Vlahovic fit and ready once the campaign restarts next month, but in the meantime the club will continue to closely monitor the striker’s condition.
