Liverpool Transfer News: Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ruled out three big-name signings to sign Uruguayan footballer Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez at the start of the season after paying £85m to Portuguese club Benfica.
He had a great start to his Liverpool career and scored a goal in his debut match against Manchester City in the Community Shield. Liverpool won the match 3-1 and lifted their 16th Community Shield title.
He was again on the scoresheet for Liverpool’s opening English Premier League match against Fulham and also assisted in Mohammad Salah’s equalizing goal after coming on as a substitute and securing a point out of the match. However, since then things have been quite different.
Liverpool Transfer News: Klopp rejected three big moves
According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp “flatly ruled out” the moves of Robert Lewandowski, Richarlison and Son Heung-min.
After winning the FA Community Shield, Liverpool had a very poor start to the season. They drew their first two Premier League games against Fulham and Crystal Palace before losing to arch-rivals Manchester United.
Liverpool returned to winning ways against AFC Bournemouth and scored 9 goals that surpassed them. They backed up this win with another win over Newcastle United aided by a 98th-minute goal from new signing Fabio Carvalho.
In the next match, they again failed to win and only drew against Everton and then lost miserably against Serie A side Napoli.
Although most of these casualties have been due to their defensive problems, Liverpool’s forwards have not been up to the task either.
His big signing of Núñez had no impact after the first two games of the season. Nunez even received a red card at Crystal Palace and was banned for three matches.
Therefore, the striker has been heavily criticized by football pundits around the world. Many have predicted that Klopp took too much of a risk by signing Nunez for that amount.
The Spanish newspaper took it to another level, calling the 23-year-old striker a “blatant blemish” on Klopp’s success in the transfer market.

Liverpool’s Premier League match against Wolves will not take place due to the tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. The Reds will now face Dutch giants Ajax in their second Champions League game. Klopp hopes to turn the situation around as soon as possible.
