Jurgen Klopp provides nine-man injury update ahead of Brighton

Liverpool are preparing for a Premier League tussle with Brighton and Hove Albion and Jurgen Klopp provided a lengthy injury update on his side.

As reported by Theo Squires of the Liverpool Echo, the German said: “Some are still out, in rehab. Robbo, Curtis, Ox and Naby. Luis only landed yesterday morning. I heard that he is good. Darwin, with caution after intense period. Same for Diogo. Calvin is training but he is not ready to play.

“Kelleher looks good in training. I think he will play this weekend with the Under-23s. Ibou also needs training. If he comes back on the weekend, he depends on how he trains today.”

It’s certainly an extensive update and sees Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita still out, awaiting a confirmed return date, although the boss explained the Scotland captain may only be a couple of weeks away. far.

Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota appear to be just precautionary absences from training, while we all hope none of them have a real injury that rules them out for the game at Anfield.

It’s great to hear that Caoimhin Kelleher is finally back in training, having played no part in pre-season so far and that Ibou Konate is very close to returning to action.

Mark all of this as four no’s, three maybe’s and two soon to be yes’s, whisper it under your breath, but our injured list may be on the decline for once.

It will be a firm touch of wood, as we all hope that this list does not grow again; we may also add Jordan Henderson back to the available players.

Hopefully we can get through the weekend unscathed, get all three points and prepare for a very busy month of football.
