Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Darwin Núñez for the attacker’s performance in the Reds’ 3-1 win over Aston Villa in their first Premier League game after the winter break, despite the fact that the Uruguayan wasted opportunities.

Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp praised Darwin Nunez, whose game he said was ‘exceptional’. The Liverpool manager was also adamant that Darwin Núñez would score goals in the future after the Uruguayan squandered a number of chances in their win over Aston Villa.

“It’s unbelievable the game he played,” Klopp told Amazon Prime Sport. “Life is unfair. It will score, of that there is no doubt. What it gives us … has incredible power.

“Of course he will score. I was in this situation very often with the forwards, and everything will be fine. His game was exceptional ”.

The win brings Liverpool’s 22/23 Premier League season points tally to 25 points from 15 games. The Reds are now just five points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who sit fourth with 30 points from 15 games.

Meanwhile, Liverpool continue to trail Arsenal by 15 points. The Gunners secured a 3-1 win over West Ham in their first Premier League game after the winter break and have 40 points from 15 matches.

Liverpool will face Leicester City in their next match, in the English top flight. Leicester City arrives for the match against Liverpool after their 3-0 loss to Newcastle United. The match between Liverpool and Leicester City kicks off at 1:30am Indian Standard Time on December 31.
