Liverpool News: The Reds have had a rocky start to the current season. They have managed to win just two of their first seven league games.

Jurgen Klopp’s troops are currently ninth in the Premier League table, with 10 points from seven games. The Reds drew 3-3 against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. They let a 3-2 lead slip away after coming back from 2-0 down.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp admits his team lacks confidence and drive.

Speaking to the media after the Brighton game, he said (via Sportskeeda): “I’m not sure if worrying is the right word, but we can’t ignore the fact. Surely the Ajax victory did not give us any kind of rhythm because then we left.

Momentum with the late goal and the late winner, we could have carried a lot of things into the next game, but unfortunately we didn’t play. Since then, that feeling has pretty much gone.”

The Reds to battle with Manchester City for the midfielder

According to the Sunday Timers (h/t Daily Express), Liverpool are interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes. They are ready to do battle with league rivals Manchester City for the signing of him.

Nunes joined Wolves from Sporting CP during the recently concluded transfer window. He made an instant impact at the club, assisting one goal in six Premier League appearances.

The 24-year-old midfielder enjoyed an excellent spell at Sporting CP. He played 76 league games for the Liga BWIN club, scoring seven goals. Nunes helped Sporting win a Primeira Liga title, two Taca da Liga and a Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. He was included in the 2021-22 Primeira Liga Team of the Season and also won the Primeira Liga Midfielder of the Month award twice.

However, removing him from Molineux Stadium will not be an easy task as he has only just joined Wolves. The central England outfit are likely to demand a huge transfer fee if they agree to sell him.
