Journalist suggests Erik ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo may no longer be speaking – Man United News And Transfer News

Cristiano Ronaldo’s position at Manchester United is at an all-time low and journalist Dean Jones has made a startling observation about it.

Following the search for the legendary scorer of greener pastures in the summer, the divisions between player and manager have continued to widen.

The relationship fell apart when Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute during the Red Devils’ 2–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

This led to the player being forced to train alone and excluded from United’s trip to Stamford Bridge, where he secured a point.

And while Erik ten Hag insists Ronaldo will play a major role in his team, it’s hard to see how the Portugal star will return to the fold.

As a result, Dean Jones (speaking to GiveMeSport) finds it “really difficult to understand how this relationship works.”

He suggests that “Ten Hag is very uncomfortable with the situation” and even makes the worrying statement, “You will probably find it very difficult to talk to him.”

If the situation is so tense as to prevent the coach from talking to Ronaldo, it is difficult to see how that relationship could be repaired.

And with Ronaldo out of the squad as he is, the possibility that he will never play for United again is very real.

It would be an unfortunate end to what has been a mutually beneficial relationship between Ronaldo and Man United, dating back to 2003 when he first signed with the club.

But given Cristiano Ronaldo’s conflicting effect on the team, his diminished ability on the pitch and the circus he generates, it could be United’s best result.
