Liverpool fans were delighted to see Diogo Jota return from injury and then end the frustration at Turf Moor with a much-needed second goal.
Speaking to LFCTV, the Portuguese striker revealed: “We were also thinking about the bench.
“Because these are the kind of games where you’re 1-0 up, you have chances, you waste them and you score, then you get disallowed for offside or a foul, and you feel like ‘we need this second goal’ because they’ll believe.” They play at home, it’s Burnley and they can score.

“They also had a couple of chances, but fortunately for us it was us who scored the second goal and it was decisive.”
Sometimes it can help attacking players to sit on the bench and watch the game slowly open up before making their impact in the final moments.
Now that we have five fit forwards back in our ranks, it is up to the two starting on the bench to do what our number 20 did and try to show why they should be given the nod in the next game.
