Celtic defender Josip Juranovic caught the eye of several top European clubs after an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign with Croatia. The 27-year-old right-back played a key role in qualifying the Blazers for the round of 16 of the tournament.

He has played three FIFA World Cup matches so far, registering one assist. Josip Juranovic will be looking to extend his fine form when Croatia’s World Cup side take on Japan for a round of 16 tie at Al Janoub Stadium on Monday.

According to Fabrizio Romano, several top European clubs are looking for Croatian defender Josip Juranovic in the FIFA World Cup. Josip Juranovic could transfer away from Celtic next month.

The 27-year-old defender joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw in the 2021 summer transfer window. He has made 50 appearances (in all competitions) for the Hoops so far, registering six goals and three assists. The Croatian international helped the Glasgow side win the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup last season.

Juranovic is known for his passing and crossing skills, along with his concentration. He has averaged 1.33 tackles, 0.67 interceptions, 1.33 blocks and 2.33 clearances per 90 in this FIFA World Cup. The Croatian international also completed 73.7 per cent of his pass attempts.

Celtic are reportedly willing to listen to offers for him in the next transfer window. They have already signed Alistair Johnston as his replacement if he moves from Celtic Park in January.

Josip Juranovic could be a decent option for clubs like Atlético Madrid who are currently in a transfer market for a new right-back. Celtic could pay a hefty transfer fee if they sell Josip Juranovic in January.

Aside from Josip Juranovic, Josko Gvardiol is another Croatian player who has been linked with a transfer to top European clubs. He has impressed everyone with his performances at the FIFA World Cup.
