Joseph Parker Planning To KO Joe Joyce On Saturday

By Charles Brun: Joseph Parker says he thinks he can knock out undefeated Joe Joyce this Saturday night in their main clash at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Parker (30-2, 21 KO) notes that Joyce (14-0, 13 KO) is incredibly easy to hit and while she can take a good hit, she can stop it if she takes too many hits.

Joyce has been stopped in the amateur ranks and, as a profession, has battled middle-of-the-road opposition to build his 14-0 record.

The only decent heavyweights the 6’6″ Joyce has ever fought are Bryant Jennings and Daniel Dubois. Jennings injured Joyce in the body in his fight in 2019.

As for Dubois, he suffered an eye injury that caused him to retire before he could land all of his weaponry on Joyce.

What is concerning is the persistent cough Parker has heading into this fight. It doesn’t sound good, and you have to wonder if he’s 100%.

“Could be. It’s all up to me how I approach this fight,” Joseph Parker told Queensbury of his clash this Saturday against Joe Joyce.

“I will not take anything away from Joe Joyce. It’s a tough fight. If I can execute what I know I can and what Andy [Lee] knows that I can and what Tyson [Fury] You know I can, I can make it an easy night for us.

“A lot of it in camp right now is physical and mental. We have been doing a lot of things to prepare for all aspects. I’m not quite sure what Joe Joyce and his team are planning.

“I wouldn’t say I don’t care, but I’m more focused on myself and what my plan is. Yes I have. I’ve seen him take a lot of punches,” Parker said when asked if he had thought about knocking out Joyce.

“My knockout ration is not the best or the worst, but I have knockout power. Yes, I imagine knocking him out. Boom, straight to the chin. Straight down the pipe or a left hook.

“I have imagined it in my head with different strokes. It has to land at the right time and with a clean hit. Joe Joyce can take a hit, but can he take a lot of hits? They all add up. He is tough and durable, but has been knocked out in the past. Not as a professional,” Parker said.
