In this latest edition of the World Soccer Talk podcast, episode 1443, Kyle Fansler speaks with one of the youngest American owners of a European soccer club.
Jordan Gardner is co-owner and co-chairman of FC Helsingør. Helsingør is in the Danish 1st Division, which is the second level in the Danish football pyramid. Under 40 years old, Gardner took control of the club in 2019. Since then, under his leadership, the club gained promotion to the Danish 1st Division. Then last season they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Danish Superliga.
Gardner provides a modern version of the club property, which clearly produces success for a club that hits above its weight. Using data and analytics allows Helsingør to meet Gardner’s goal of making the club a great place for transfers and development. Gardner also discusses his most important lessons and his favorite moments during the time he was involved in the European game.
