Brazilian wunderkind Joao Gomes is open to the possibility of signing for Liverpool in the future.

Speaking to the media, he said: “Liverpool is a team I would play for. I really want to play. Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream in football”.

The Reds have started the current season poorly, winning just two of their first seven league games. Jurgen Klopp has struggled with his midfield options thus far, this season with Thiago, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Fabio Carvalho all having injury problems during the early parts of the season.

Klopp tried to address the issue by signing Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus on deadline day. However, the Brazilian international has yet to start a competitive game for the Reds. Klopp could look to bring another midfielder into his squad during the January window, with Pedro among the options.

But the Brazilian recently signed a new contract at Flamengo, which will keep him at the club until 2027. The Reds will need to pay a massive transfer fee to bring him to Anfield.
