Joao Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for a move from Aston Villa for his highly-talented and highly-coveted client.
Felix’s potential move to Villa stems from Manchester United’s strong interest in the 23-year-old Portuguese superstar.
Recently it was reported that Felix prefers to move to Old Trafford, where he would arrive as successor to his team’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, reliable David Ornstein reports that Villa Park could be a more realistic destination for the disgruntled Atlético Madrid striker, whose heart is set on an exit from the Wanda Metropolitano.
Ornstein reports: “Aston Villa are an option that Joao Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes is believed to be pushing.”
“He has a strong relationship with Villa ownership after making the deal for Unai Emery to be appointed manager.”
Ito thet has also learned that Arsenal have now entered the race for Felix, with the player a legitimate target for the north London outfit.
Ornstein adds of Arsenal’s development: “However, some who work in top-level recruiting feel that Felix may be a better fit for Arsenal, given the stylistic fit and his potential need for attacking reinforcements.”
Marca, half Spanish, confirms to Ornstein that Villa is an option for the player. However, Marca believes that Felix is not particularly interested in Emery’s team.
The Portuguese international is not attracted to the team or the city.
