Jesse Marsch will have a ‘big regret’ not signing PSV star in summer

Jesse Marsch has one major regret after failing to sign PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo on Deadline Day.

The 23-year-old is one of the fittest strikers in Europe at the moment and is sure to be one of the most coveted players next month during the World Cup.

The Yorkshire club was about to close a deal with the Dutch star but in the final hours of the transfer market Gakpo decided to stay at PSV.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure there will be a slight regret that they didn’t close the deal in the summer when it looked positive before the deal fell through on deadline day.

“Cody Gakpo is probably one of the fittest players in Europe at the moment, so it’s no surprise he’s thinking he could play at a higher level and maybe go to a team that’s in the Champions League.” O’Rourke said.
