Jermaine Jenas feels Cristiano Ronaldo should not represent Manchester United anymore – Man United News And Transfer News

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan last night, the Match of Day 2 team shared their thoughts on the matter with Jermaine Jenas, notably stating that Ronaldo’s United career should end.

After Ronaldo said he felt United had betrayed him and said he had no respect for his manager, several pundits have weighed in on the matter.

Asked by Mark Chapman what his thoughts were, Jenas said: “First of all, I am totally baffled and confused as to why he has done this interview.”

He continues: “I think it leads you to how Cristiano Ronaldo feels right now and how he has felt all season. We haven’t seen anything other than, almost smug, all year.”

After criticizing the Portuguese striker for his attitude, he criticized United saying: “I think the club have mishandled the whole situation.”

Reflecting on his comments in particular about the current manager, Jenas analyzes: “It allows (Erik ten Hag) to elevate his position in the football club when he treats Cristiano in a certain way.

“It allows him to line up the dressing room. At the same time, Ronaldo has to behave in line with the rest of the team.”

Ronaldo accused his club of lacking empathy when his daughter was ill and said there had been no development at the club since he left in 2009.

When Chapman pressed Jenas and fellow wild card Jermaine Defoe about whether we would see Ronaldo play for United again, they both agreed.

“Maybe his ego is a bit dented. She has never been in this situation before. He has to end up at United now,” Defoe said.

Meanwhile, Jenas was adamant: “He can’t play with him now. He can’t be involved in the team now.”

The interview came after Ronaldo was absent from the squad once again, reportedly due to illness as the team beat Fulham 2-1 with Alejandro Garnacho scoring the winner in stoppage time.
