Kylian Mbappé news: La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed that the French superstar has stayed in a league that is not competitive.
Mbappé was heavily linked with a move away from PSG ahead of the 22/23 season, with Real Madrid interested in his services. His contract with PSG was due to expire at the end of June 30.
It was widely expected that he would join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer. But Mbappé decided to snub Real Madrid and sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappé extended his stay in the French side by signing a three-year contract. His current contract with PSG runs until 2025.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has now criticized Mbappé for staying at PSG.
“If we look at the clubs where they are, we see that these are clubs that are investing money,” Tebas said when asked if La Liga was missing superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Mbappe.
And he added: “Of course we would have liked them to come, but they weren’t there last year either.
“Mbappé stayed in a championship that is not competitive.”
La Liga has seen Messi and Ronaldo leave the league in the last five years. Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, changing the Spanish team for Juventus. Ronaldo currently plays for Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021 following the expiration of his contract with the Catalan outfit. Messi wanted to stay at Barcelona, but it could not be “due to financial and structural obstacles.” Messi joined PSG that summer and has been playing for them ever since.
Meanwhile, Mbappe has been impressive for PSG this season. Mbappé has so far participated in six games with the French team and has accumulated 9 goals.
The 23-year-old opened his account this season with a goal in PSG’s 5-2 victory over Montpellier. He then scored a hat-trick in PSG’s 7-1 victory over LOSC Lille.
Mbappe then scored a goal in PSG’s 3–0 victory over Toulouse and scored a brace as PSG defeated Nantes by the same margin.
He also powered PSG to three points in their 22/23 Champions League opener, scoring twice in a 2-1 victory over Juventus.
