Manchester City have had a stellar start to the season and sit second in the points table. Pep Guardiola’s men have 23 points from their first nine games and are unbeaten in the league so far this season.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are off to a rocky start and languish in 10th place in the points table. The Reds have only won 10 points in their first eight games.

Despite Liverpool’s struggles in the league and Man City’s unbeaten run, Carragher expects both teams to share points in their next game.

Carragher believes it will be a tough game for both of them and expects Liverpool to be aggressive against the visitors. The Liverpool legend expects a great game that will end in a draw.

“I don’t expect Liverpool to take a step back, it’s not their style. They are at Anfield so I hope to use the crowd and be really aggressive and make it as difficult as possible for Manchester City,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“I think it will be a difficult match for both of them. Manchester City don’t have a great record at Anfield, but Liverpool are up against the best team in the world. I think it will be a great game and a draw again, 1-1 or 2-2 like last season”.

Meanwhile, Liverpool come into the game following their 7-1 thrashing of Rangers in the Champions League. Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick and Roberto Firmino scored two, while Harvey Elliot and Darwin Núñez also scored a goal each against Rangers.

Manchester City, meanwhile, comes into the game after sharing points with Copenhagen in the Champions League after drawing 0-0.

Although Jurgen Klopp has ruled Liverpool out of the title race, the Reds will try to bridge the gap to Man City with a win over them at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will be eyeing the three points to keep up the pressure on league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
