Former Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher thinks the Reds are in big trouble after their loss against Leeds United.
Liverpool, runners-up in the English Premier League last year, faced relegation fighting Leeds United last night. Having lost in their last EPL game against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool were hoping to get back on the winning track. Things, however, turned out differently.
Leeds United took the lead in the third minute of the match through Spanish striker Rodrigo after a miscommunication between Alisson and Joe Gomez. However, Liverpool got back into the match when Mohamed Salah scored the equalizer in the fourteenth minute.
The first half ended with a score of 1-1. After the break, Liverpool put a lot of pressure on the Leeds defence. But Leeds custodian Illan Meslier produced a masterclass in stopping every attack. Leeds regained their lead in the 89th minute when Crysencio Summerville found the back of the net. The match ended in a painful 2-1 loss for Liverpool.

Anfield draws closer After Leeds United’s stunning victory against Liverpool, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher hailed this victory as a great result for the Whites.
“Leeds fans know how big this result is. It’s been so long since anyone has won at Anfield. They’re going to milk him and rightly so. It will do wonders for them, in terms of the league table. This is not a problem for Liverpool, this is a serious problem,” Carragher said at Sunday night’s football.
The Sky Sports Pundit then noted the Leeds goalkeeper’s strong performance against his former team. But Jamie Carragher also admitted that Leeds deserved points from this game.
Throughout the season, Liverpool have been hot and cold. they have beaten teams like Manchester City and then suffered losses to Nottingham Forest. Klopp has tried many formations but nothing has given him success over a sustained period. The German will once again go to the drawing board, thinking about the changes he will have to make.
Speaking of the same, Carragher said: “Klopp must be thinking, what else can I try now? Different permutations, formations, personnel”
The biggest problem for Liverpool this season has been multiple injuries to their key players. This forced Klopp to make many changes to his lineup. Consequently, it has been difficult for Klopp to have a joint eleven.
After this defeat, Liverpool will remain in ninth place. The Reds now have just sixteen points from twelve games and the top four seems like a distant dream for them.
The Reds will now face Napoli in their next game.
