Jake Paul Eager For ‘Real Fight’ With Mayweather: ‘I Want to Say I Got Your 0’

Jake Paul is willing to trade sanctioned blows with boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr.

A few days after the Hall of Fame boxer called the curious YouTuber-turned-cruiserweight a “real fight,” Paul, 25, doubled down on his initial affirmative response. In a video posted on social media of him on Sunday, Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) insisted that he would accept Mayweather’s offer, however, with the caveat that he will weigh 175 while Mayweather will enter. at 165.

“Alright ladies and gentlemen, picture this: It’s 2022. Floyd Mayweather is ruining his legacy fighting no-name guys, wasting his fans’ money, wasting his fans’ time,” Paul said. “He doesn’t even know the names of the guys he’s fighting, and then he chooses to fight Comedy Shorts Gamer, an influencer, to make some money to pay his taxes.

“Floyd Mayweather telling Jake Paul that you will only fight Jake Paul if he drops to his weight, 140 pounds or something. I can’t believe what is happening in the world. I can’t believe this is real.”

“Floyd, I will fight you, and you know it is one of the biggest fights that can be made in boxing,” Paul continued. “I weigh 175, you weigh 165. We can do that, make a couple of $100 million.”

Paul’s comments were delivered shortly after Mayweather knocked out Japanese mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura in two rounds in an exhibition fight organized by RIZIN in Japan. It was announced on Monday that Mayweather has another exhibition fight scheduled for November, in Dubai, against popular YouTuber Deji.

Paul will face perhaps the toughest opponent of his career on October 29 when he takes on retired MMA legend Anderson Silva at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix.

“Money May” has had some history with Paul. Mayweather fought Paul’s older brother, Logan Paul, last year in an exhibition fight distributed by Showtime Pay-Per-View. In the run-up to the fight, during a press conference, Paul snatched Mayweather’s hat. Older Paul, a boxing rookie, eventually weighed in at 189.5 pounds, while Mayweather weighed in at 155 pounds. The younger Paul, who has fought five pro fights so far, has mostly fought around the 190-pound mark.

Paul, however, believes that the 45-year-old Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) will ultimately simply find an alibi not to fight him.

“But what will be your excuse?” Paul said. “You didn’t care what my brother weighed, so why do you care what I weigh? Oh, because you know, you know what’s going to happen. I mean, ‘I have your 0’. I don’t want to just say: ‘I have your hat’. I have your 0.

“But you’re going to find a way to dance around this. You’ve said, ‘Oh, once I fight a pro wrestler, it will be destroyed. It will be bad for him. Why not let that be you, the best of all? There is only one Mayweather, but he is scared to fight Jake Paul. It’s 2022. I can’t believe what’s going on guys. Dammit.”
