Jake Paul brands one-fight UFC opponent, 47, a “world-class pro boxer”

Jake Paul ratified his next fight after losing three times against a renowned professional boxer. The YouTuber made sure to rate it as such.

Anderson Silva, a UFC legend who has fought one in good faith [half-retired for years] boxer in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., received the tag from Paul and his team.

They strongly believe that Silva counts as a professional boxer despite his lack of activity against real boxers in our code.

Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva

However, Jake Paul doesn’t mince words in the game of pugilistic influence and respect when he loses a lot.

The farces of Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. further tainted Paul’s attempts to break into the world of boxing. his reputation to those in the know is as flat as it was when he first entered the sport.

But reading some of the official information released by Showtime on Tuesday makes for fascinating reading.

Paul is called a “serial risk taker” by the network. Apparently, Silva is “often compared to Muhammad Ali and Pelé of mixed martial arts.”

If it is, that certainly doesn’t count for boxing squats.

Showtime says that Paul “will face the biggest challenge of his career at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, October 29.”

If the fight happens, this will be true. The toughest of a mediocre group Paul has shared the ring with is Silva.

Again, they try to gain some traction with a sanctioned boxing match. Showtime had to point to the MMA record, which means zero when in the ring.

“Silva authored one of the strongest resumes of any MMA fighter before returning to professional boxing in 2021.

“Silva holds the UFC record for the longest title reign in organization history: 2,457 days; the most consecutive wins in the UFC: 16 and the most finishes in fights for the UFC title: nine.

“Known for his excellent striking ability in the cage, Silva (34-11, 1 NC in mixed martial arts) has found success. He has transitioned into boxing in a remarkable career second act.”

world class boxer

Now this is where it gets crazier as the statement says, “the Brazilian announced his return as a world class boxer in June 2021. He soundly defeated former middleweight boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., by split decision which did not It was as close as the scores indicated.”

I’m not sure anyone with a solid knowledge of boxing would agree that a win over Chavez Jr. at this stage in his career makes someone “world class.”

But here we are with another stretch of Paul playing boxing. The lack of fights in 2023 and the lack of opponents with a pulse continue the farce in another year.

They even state that Paul “will possibly face a much tougher opponent.” If that is the case, why didn’t they go with Silva from the start if he is a world-class fighter and a much more formidable opponent?

It doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t add up. It is what it is, and the game continues.

Catchweight Paul vs. Silva
