‘Jack Sh1t’ – Cacace laughs off Magnesi’s mind games attempts

antonio cacace [19(7)-1(0)] has told Michael Magnesi [21(13)-0] he doesn’t play mind games and his head isn’t something to mess with before his big fight this weekend.

The super featherweight from Belfast challenges the Italian for his IBO world title on Frank Warren’s BT Sport broadcast. Joseph Parker: Joe Joyce headlined the fight card on Saturday.

It’s a fight the Lou DiBella-managed title holder was actively seeking, and even before it was officially made, he expressed confidence in victory.

‘Lone Wolfe’ questioned the power of ‘The Apache’ when speaking to the Irish media, telling Irish-boxing.com there was ‘no way’ Cacace could beat him.

Cacace, too, suggests the Italian’s trainers have been sending him messages, a move he believes to be a deliberate attempt to get inside his head, attempts which the laid-back 33-year-old British champion is convinced have proved fruitless.

The mercurial talent says he hasn’t paid attention to anything the champion or his team has said.

“He can say whatever he wants,” he said in his last interview with Boxing Tickets NI.

“He’s playing mind games, which don’t work with me. His coaches were texting me on Instagram like that was going to do anything. Look, at the end of the day we’re going to fight whatever they say before it means shit to me.”

Magnesi’s confidence seems genuine. In fact, the fact that the fighter who is undefeated in 21 and has stopped the last nine of his has picked a fight with the man from Belfast proves it.

The 27-year-old has said so too, but Cacace believes his faith is misplaced and thinks the Italian is in for a surprise when he fights at the AO Arena next Saturday.

“I think this guy Magnesi really thinks he’s going to get in the ring and take me out in one round. He will come confident, me too. It’s a good match,” he adds.

“It’s good to be confident, but so was any other fighter before they fought me. In terms of the best fight he’s ever fought, he’s going to find out tonight that I’m the best, 100 percent.”

You’re going to find out tonight that I hit a lot harder than you think, you can discredit all my power all you want, but when you get hit, you’ll know how hard I hit.”
