English Football News: Ivan Toney makes his debut in the national team squad

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been named in the 28-man Three Lions squad by Gareth Southgate for the upcoming Nations League match.

After a strong last season, Toney has continued his rich form and has already scored five goals in the first six Premier League games.

Meanwhile, the England team was struggling with injuries when Manchester United striker Marcus Rahsford became the latest addition to the roster. Rashfford, 24, was injured in United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal. Rashford has been ruled out of United’s Europa League tie against Sheriff Tiraspol.

With Rashford out due to injury, there weren’t many options that could give Harry Kane competition in the National Team. Therefore, Southgate decided to give the Brentford forward a chance before the world cup in Qatar.
