José Enrique has suggested that Naby Keita should leave Liverpool and join AC Milan in order to have a ‘reunion’ with Divock Origi.
The latter left the Reds in the summer after 12 years on Merseyside, while our No. 8 is out of contract in the summer and a new deal looks unlikely.
During our 3-2 loss to Manchester City last night, the former RB Leipzig player made his first appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side since the Community Shield victory over the same team in July.
“Will you let Keita go for free?” asked Enrique on his Instagram page (via HITC). “I think it’s the best for us and for him too.
“The Italian league is also not as physically demanding as the Premier League and it will meet with Origi.”

Since we signed the Guinea international from the Bundesliga side in 2018, he has struggled to live up to expectations.
He arrived at Anfield for more than £50m and was awarded the famous number 8 shirt, but has spent a lot of time on the treatment table and doesn’t seem to have the physique to shine in the Premier League.
Therefore, it is understandable why Enrique suggested that he should move to the San Siro.
Not wanting to disrespect the standard of football in Italy, the game is often played at a slower pace, which may be of interest to the 27-year-old.
It seems extremely unlikely that he will prolong his stay on Merseyside, which is disappointing, especially when you consider that we’re likely to see him leave the club and not earn a penny for his services.
However, he is still a Liverpool player for now and let’s hope he can make a decent change during the second half of the campaign.
