Italian media rates the World Cup campaigns of Juve’s eleven stars

Last month eleven Juventus players took the flight to Doha. While nine returned nearly empty-handed, the other two have been crowned world champions.

IlBianconero handed out their ratings for each Juventus ambassador in Doha based on their performances throughout the tournament.

We start with Wojciech Szczesny, who was rated 8/10 after dragging Poland into the round of 16 with two wonderful penalty saves, including one against Lionel Messi. However, his teammate Arek Milik couldn’t find the back of the net during his outings, which is why he gets a low rating (5).

For his part, Weston McKennie got off to a slow start but then picked up the pace, earning him a decent 6 rating.

As for the Brazilian trio, Danilo earned top grade (7) for his solid performances, while Alex Sandro’s costly mistake in the quarterfinals ruined what was an impressive tournament for him and subsequently dropped his rating to 6.5. Gleison Bremer saw little of the field but was decent overall (6).

Filip Kostic did enough to earn a 6.5 rating, while Dusan Vlahovic endured a forgettable campaign. But he scored a goal against Switzerland that raised his grade to 5.5.

As for the finalists, Adrien Rabiot enjoyed a stellar campaign, establishing himself as a key player for France. His final grade is 7.5.

Finally, the performances of Leandro Paredes in the semifinal and the grand final saved what started out as a bad experience. The new world champion received a rating of 7, but it was his teammate from Argentina Ángel Di María who obtained the highest rating of all (8.5) thanks to his heroism in the final.
