‘I heard’ – German journalist shares latest from Jude Bellingham camp

It’s certainly not unheard of that Liverpool seem to be keeping an eye on Jude Bellingham and now there’s been another update on our possible search for the Borussia Dortmund man.

Writing for CaughtOffside, German soccer expert Christian Falk said: “I hear Jude Bellingham is very attentive to what Liverpool are doing at the moment. I have been told that nobody should think that he is a player who would not go to Liverpool because of the difficult situation in which they find themselves. He’s the other way around: he’s actually the type of person who would love to go to a club where they can change his luck.

At Liverpool he sees that the club needs him and that he can build something there, which is why the winger continues to be an interesting option for him. As you can see in the Premier League, they are not too far from the Champions League places, but it is important to note that Champions League qualification is not a deal breaker for Bellingham. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt Liverpool’s chances!

“Jurgen Klopp has already mentioned in his interviews that something has to change and it’s clear, when you see the positions that need strengthening, Liverpool need someone like Jude Bellingham.

‘Everyone talks about the Liverpool defense; Okay, they’re not brilliant at the moment, but that’s tied to the role Bellingham could play against the back line. He is a player who could offer a multitude of solutions and would have an instant impact at Liverpool.

“He is the captain of Dortmund and if he goes to another club he could be one of many top talents. At Liverpool he would be a leader from the get-go.”

The 19-year-old has already made 29 appearances in all competitions for his club this season, registering 10 goals and six assists, as well as receiving the captain’s armband and all while still a teenager.

It’s no surprise that we are among many interested parties in the England international, but this update from Germany continues to suggest that we are in a very strong position to secure his signing.

If this is going to be a great summer for the Reds, signing a player who could be tremendously influential on the field, and also someone who is excited by the prospect of a challenge, could be the key signing to rebuild a team.

However, the truth is that there are still plenty of twists and turns ahead of this negotiation and a long time before we find out where the Birmingham-born teenager will play football next season.

It may all come down to money though, so we’ll have to wait and see how big Jurgen Klopp’s war chest is and if FSG secures more investment to back him than they currently can.
