Huge price tag of 20-year-old Liverpool transfer target revealed

Liverpool have taken a major hit in their hopes of signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton after the Seagulls reportedly put a £85m price tag on the Ecuadorian, according to The Mirror (via Express).

The talented midfielder is believed to be attracting the interest of FA Cup champions and Manchester United after his impressive showing for the south coast side in recent months.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were rumored to be preparing a bid for the 20-year-old in the summer as the search for a new midfielder continues, but such a move never materialized.

Brighton signed the Ecuadorian international for just £4.5m last year and they could make big profits with one of the Premier League’s most exciting young talents.

With Fabinho’s performances far from convincing so far this season, a January move for the Seagulls star would certainly make sense, but Liverpool are unlikely to be willing to spend that much money to secure his signing.

Money may be saved to help finance the move of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, a player recognized by many as the Reds’ top transfer target.

Caicedo has appeared in all 12 of Brighton’s league games so far this season and if he continues his impressive performances, Roberto De Zerbi’s side may find it difficult to keep him.
