Henderson makes Bellingham admission as LFC remain linked with talented teenager

Jordan Henderson has been full of praise for his England team-mate Jude Bellingham but remains wary about overplaying the 19-year-old.

The Borussia Dortmund star is believed to be Liverpool’s main transfer target, either in January or at the end of the season, but the Reds won’t be the only club chasing the teenager’s signature.

His performances for club and country in recent weeks have highlighted the youngster’s talents and the Reds captain has now weighed in on the former Birmingham City star.

“I like Jude, I think he’s an amazing player,” Henderson told The Mirror (via Express). “He is a fantastic professional and his mentality is really key to his development.

“I almost don’t want to make him too big because he’s still a young boy! There will be a lot of pressure on him at a young age, but of course he is a great player and I am sure he will play a big role in Qatar.”

Henderson replaced Bellingham during stoppage time of England’s 3-3 draw with Germany on Monday night at Wembley.

The Dortmund midfielder produced another impressive performance and is somewhat certain he will be part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the impending World Cup in Qatar later in the year.

His performance against the Germans had it all.

He crushed many dangerous-looking attacks from the visitors and then helped his team progress up the pitch with powerful runs through midfield and accurate passing, not to mention earning his side a penalty that Harry Kane converted.

Liverpool’s midfield has been far from convincing so far this season and it’s clear that if Bellingham were to move to Anfield, he has the potential to be a real star.

Henderson is a player who knows how to handle pressure and it’s clear he’s built a great relationship with the teenager during his time with the Three Lions.

Dortmund are expected to demand a fee close to £130m for their star midfielder if he decides to leave, but when you consider that he has more than a decade of promising years ahead of him, that fee certainly seems to make sense.
