Hansi Flick on Whether He Will Resign After Germany FIFA World Cup Exit

Hansi Flick, the coach of the Germany national soccer team, has admitted that their future will be decided “quickly” after they were left out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Germany, who are the 2014 FIFA World Cup champions, have been knocked out of the latest edition of FIFA’s flagship event in the group stage.

Die Mannschaft were in Group E at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, along with Costa Rica, Japan and their European rivals Spain. Hansi Flick’s men began their campaign with a stunning 2-1 loss to Japan in their opening game.

Germany followed with a 1-1 draw with an in-form Spain. Germany then faced Costa Rica in their third group game of the campaign. They recorded a 4-2 win over Costa Rica, but it wasn’t enough as Japan and Spain qualified for the round of 16 from Group E.

With a win, a draw and a loss in three games, Germany collected four points in Group E. The top two teams on the points table qualify for the round of 16 in each group.

From Group E, they were Japan and Spain. Japan qualified for the round of 16 of Group E with six points. Spain, for its part, added four points, the same as those of Germany. But Spain had a better goal difference, courtesy of their 7-0 win over Costa Rica in the opening game.
