Goncalo Ramos Manchester United transfer links

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly admires Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos, who could be an alternative to the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.

The Red Devils will surely be in the market for a big name to sign up up front in the summer after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, with Ten Hag’s side a little too reliant on Marcus Rashford for goals at the moment.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag likes the 21-year-old Portuguese striker Ramos as a potential option, with the report noting that the likes of Kane and Osimhen could cost a lot of money.

Ramos has 18 goals in 27 appearances for Benfica in all competitions so far this season, also impressing with a Portugal hat-trick against Switzerland in the World Cup.

Man Utd could surely do a lot worse than explore this signing, although Benfica don’t usually make it easy to buy clubs, as we’ve seen with Enzo Fernández of late.

Kane looks ideal in terms of being a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, but it’s not easy to sell Tottenham to an opponent, and Ramos has the advantage of being much younger than England’s leaders, who turns 30 this summer.
