Goncalo Ramos closely watched by Manchester United says Fabrizio Romano – Man United News And Transfer News

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United is very attentive to Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos.

The Portugal star turned heads during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, becoming the youngest player since Pelé to score a hat-trick in the final.

He has also enjoyed a fantastic campaign for his club, scoring twelve goals in 15 league appearances.

And while Romano has reiterated that United is unlikely to spend much in this window, he is including him among the list of players the club is considering to bolster its forward line in the summer.

“As I always say, for Osimhen, Kane, Ramos… we have to wait for the summer. Now nothing will happen, ”said the trusted reporter in the Daily Briefing of him.

“Manchester United are monitoring a lot of forwards but nothing is concrete or advanced now; they sent their scouts to the UCL matches for Ramos, but at the moment there is nothing else.”

While Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane have been featured as prime targets elsewhere, negative factors could make either player difficult to target.

In Osimhen’s case, reports of a €140m asking price would likely put the Nigerian out of United’s reach even with serious investment.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Kane is keen to stay at Tottenham Hotspur, even as his contract situation becomes more dangerous for his club.

Ramos could be a good alternative and is known to be a player admired by Erik ten Hag.

Energetic and hard-working, the Portuguese striker would fit perfectly into the pressing game that the coach seeks to impose on United.

He also provides an aerial threat, something obviously important to Ten Hag given the acquisition of Wout Weghorst as a middle ground for the remainder of the current season.
