The battle of lightweight contenders between veteran Joseph “JoJo” Diaz and undefeated William Zepeda has been moved up a week on the schedule to October 29. This came in a Thursday morning announcement from Golden Boy and DAZN promotions.

“La encrucijada, the 12-round lightweight main event bout between Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr. (32-2-1) and undefeated rising star from Mexico, William “Camarón” Zepeda (26-0, 23 KOs) has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, October 29. Fight fans will now be able to enjoy the decisive fight a week early, as the event was previously announced for Saturday, November 5.

“I am ready to put on a great performance in my comeback fight in front of everyone in San Diego who will be tuning in live on DAZN,” said JoJo Diaz.
“Now that it has been formally announced that my fight will be in San Diego, I am looking forward to fighting JoJo Diaz in front of all the fans in that great city,” said William Zepeda. “I have seen crowds there, and they are loud, so I expect no less on October 29.”

Zepeda (26-0, 23 KOs), 26, a southpaw from Mexico, has been scoring knockout after knockout, though his streak of 15 in a row came to an end on May 14 when he comfortably outpointed the former heavyweight champion. junior lightweight Rene Alvarado. more than 10 rounds.
Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya has previously said the fight lives up to his longtime mantra of matching his fights in legit fights.
