Georgia quarterback and NFL draft prospect Stetson Bennett was arrested in Dallas on a public intoxication charge early Sunday morning.

According to police, officers were called to an area after reports of a man banging on doors. They found Bennett intoxicated and arrested the quarterback at 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The 25-year-old was reportedly taken to a detention center in the city with no further updates at press time.

Bennett arrested after leading Georgia to back-to-back national championships

Stetson Bennett spent the last four seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs and finished his NCAA career as one of five quarterbacks to win back-to-back national champions, accomplishing the feat in 2022 and 2023.

Over the past two seasons, Georgia has lost just one game under Bennett at QB (28-1 record), but his time in college finally came to an end before the NFL draft later this year.

According to NFL betting sites, Bennett has +17,500 to be the first QB drafted behind 14 others including Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Will Levis as the QB class of 2023 appears to be one of the strongest in years. .

Bennett’s draft position plus/minus is No. 155 in the fifth round and he has -250 to be drafted and +200 to miss.
