Genoa has a strong interest in Juventus loanee Frabotta

Genoa want to add Gianluca Frabotta to their squad this month despite the left-back being on loan at Serie B side Frosinone.

Frabotta missed much of last season due to injury, prompting Juve to send him to Frosinone this term so he can play regularly for the first team.

The left-back is enjoying it with the Canary Islands, which has caught the attention of Genoa, which is pursuing promotion and wants him in its squad.

The Griffins intend to hold talks with Juve to convince the bianconeri to allow the 23-year-old to finish the season with them, according to CalcioMercato.

Juve FC says

Genoa are an ambitious team and are doing well in Serie B, so Frabotta would be in good hands if he joins them.

However, the former Bologna candidate needs playing time and should only leave Frosinone for a club that offers him more chances to play.

The left-back is one of the players we were hoping would become our next starter in that spot when Alex Sandro leaves and he needs to develop quickly enough to get that opportunity.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen, but if Frabotta does well in the second half of the season, we could bring him into our first team next season.
