Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray want to sign Spanish youth international Iñaki Pena from La Liga giants Barcelona on a permanent transfer.
After spending time in the Alicante and Villareal academies, Iñaki Peña joined the Barcelona academies.
Peña won the 2017-18 UEFA Youth League title with the Catalan giants and started in the final. He then graduated from the Barcelona academy and was given a three-year contract at Blaugrana.
Peña started playing for Barcelona B (now known as Barcelona Atletic) and soon became a regular in the squad. His consistency earned him call-ups to the senior team, but he failed to make any appearances. Pena was sent to Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray on loan. He played half a season in the Turkish national team and then returned to Barcelona again.

After returning from his loan spell, Iñaki Peña became the team’s second-choice goalkeeper. He participated in the pre-season friendlies and decided to stay on as a substitute for Marc Andre ter Stegan.
However, the youngster’s contract expires at the end of the season and, even so, there is no confirmation about the renewal talks.
And now the Spanish outlet Relevo has reported that Galatasaray wants to take advantage of this and sign the goalkeeper for free next season.
After the worst season in the history of his club, Gala signed many big names at the start of the season. Now the legend of his club, Fernando Muslera, will probably leave the club at the end of this campaign. So they are looking for someone to replace him permanently.
During his brief loan at the club, Iñaki Peña played very well. So, with his contract coming to an end next season, the goalkeeper became a big target for the Turkish club.
With Marc Andre ter Stegen in his prime, Barcelona have currently conceded just four goals in nine games. However, Iñaki Peña has not appeared in any of them. However, he is expected to start Copa Del Rey matches.
It is understood that Barcelona will try to renew the Spanish goalkeeper’s contract soon. They want to keep Pen in the club for a long time.
