Fury Confident He Will ‘Clean Out’ Joshua in Six To Seven Rounds

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has fired some verbal bombshells in the direction of Tony Bellew, over some recent comments about Anthony Joshua.

Fury was attempting to face WBO, IBF, IBO and WBA champion Oleksandr Uysk in December, but the Ukrainian boxer is still reeling from last month’s decision win over Joshua and does not plan to fight again until 2023.

Once Usyk was out of the picture this year, Fury turned his attention to Joshua.

Earlier this week, Fury offered Joshua a 60-40 money split to have a year-end showdown in the UK.

Joshua and his handlers are fine with the split.

However, Bellew believes that Joshua should at least be given a 50-50 split, due to his drawing power.

“Bellew is an AJ fan, right? He’s on AJ’s hoo-ha. I’m not even going to say it on the radio where he’s sitting, he’s pretty high on AJ’s hoo-ha. So let’s say why the best fighter in the world, which he knows is me, call AJ?” Fury told Talk Sport.

“I’ll tell you why, Bellew, it’s because the other little guy who just beat your bodybuilding buddy Usyk doesn’t want to smoke with the Gypsy King. He came out and publicly said, ‘I don’t want to fight Tyson until next year.’

“Bellew says, ‘Oh, people like Anthony Joshua sell out.’ Who do you think he is talking to? I have the largest number of attendees in UK history – 94,000 alone! However, AJ and his partner Eddie Hearn are happy with 40 percent.”

Joshua is coming off consecutive losses at the hands of Usyk, and three losses in his last five fights.

While Fury doesn’t overlook Joshua’s skills, he hopes to take down his domestic rival in the first half of the contest.

“To be honest with you two great giant heavyweights in the ring, anything can happen at any given moment when you have two guys as big as us taking blows at each other,” Fury said.

“However, I have always said that what happens when I fight Joshua, they clean it up. I say in six, seven rounds, if it lasts that long.”
