Barcelona News: Frenkie de Jong is one of the most talented midfielders in the Spanish League.
De Jong joined the Blaugrana for €75m from Ajax in the 2019 summer transfer window. So far, he has made 104 league appearances for the Spanish giants, registering nine goals and nine assists.
The 25-year-old midfielder was among the Blaugrana’s best players when they won the Copa del Rey in 2020-21, registering three goals and two assists in five appearances. He also won the Premi Barça Players of the 2020-21 season.
De Jong is also a vital member of the Netherlands team. De Jong has represented his country 44 times since he debuted in 2019.

Blaugrana midfielder Frenkie de Jong has revealed that he always wanted to stay at the Camp Nou despite rumors of leaving during the summer.
Speaking to the media, he said (via Fabrizio Romano): “It was clear to me, I wanted to stay in Barcelona. There is no problem, between my colleagues and I nothing has changed.

Barcelona were open to selling the Dutch international last summer due to financial difficulties. Manchester United and Chelsea were among the clubs interested in signing him.
According to Athletic, Barcelona have even accepted an offer of 85 million euros from Manchester United to sell it. However, De Jong always wanted to stay at the club and blocked his departure.
Meanwhile, De Jong has been in excellent form for the Catalan club this season. He has registered a goal in six LaLiga games so far. The Dutchman is expected to play a key role for Barca as they face Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for the league title this season.
However, according to SportsMole, Manchester United are still monitoring his situation at the Camp Nou and could still try to sign him in the coming windows.
