Fred has praised his Manchester United team-mate and compatriot Casemiro, describing the Brazilian midfielder as “one of the best players”.
Casemiro joined Manchester United in the 2022 summer transfer window, with the Red Devils signing him from Real Madrid to bolster their midfield department.
Erik ten Hag initially handed out Casemiro appearances from the bench, but the Brazil international has quickly settled into the Old Trafford squad. He has already become a key part of Manchester United’s midfield.
He has been impressive for the Red Devils, and his performances have already earned him Manchester United’s Player of the Month award. Casemiro was voted Manchester United Player of the Month for October 2022.
Fred praises ‘one of the best players’ Casemiro
Fred was full of praise for Casemiro when asked about the Brazilian in an interview with TNT Sports. The 29-year-old described Casemiro as a player who brings a lot on and off the pitch.
“Everyone knows that he is one of the best players there, that he has won a lot at Real Madrid in recent years. So he’s a guy with a lot of experience,” Fred told TNT Sports. [via Manchester Evening News].
“On the pitch he is a great player and off the pitch he has a lot of experience. So he is a guy who contributes a lot, both on and off the field, he contributes a lot in the locker room. And it’s a pleasure to be able to play alongside him, these great players here at United.”
Since joining Manchester United in the summer of 2022, Casemiro has made 15 appearances for the Red Devils. He has also scored a goal and recorded an assist for Man Utd so far this season.
His first goal for Man Utd came at a crucial moment against fierce rivals Chelsea. With Man Utd trailing by one goal against Chelsea in a Premier League match, Casemiro rescued a point for the Old Trafford side with a looping header in stoppage time.
Meanwhile, Man Utd currently sit fifth in the Premier League points table with 23 points from 12 games. Ten Hag’s men have accumulated seven wins, two draws and three losses in the English top flight so far this season.
Man Utd take on Aston Villa at the latter’s home in their next game in the Premier League. The match between the two sides kicks off at 7:30 pm Indian Standard Time on Sunday.
