Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf called up Mason Mount following their loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
Chelsea suffered defeat in the opening match of the Champions League group stage, losing to Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb.
After such a disappointing result, it’s hard to speak positively about the individual performance of Chelsea players, and former defender Leboeuf has been vocal about Mount’s performance, as seen in the tweet below.
Frank Leboeuf: “Sorry, Mason Mount is missing. I want to know where he is. He is fantastic, a great player, but his involvement in the game was not enough”.

Players who have come through the academy at a club will often have a lot of wiggle room in their performances. Because they are “one of their own,” they can sometimes escape criticism, and Leboeuf was kind enough to point that out.
Mount wasn’t the only player to produce a disappointing performance, but Leboeuf chose to take out the England international.
Despite his age, Mount is considered one of Chelsea’s key players and veterans, with many players coming and going, he is one of the few to have been with the club for a few years.
Against a minor team, with all due respect, in Zagreb, Chelsea needed players like Mount to stand up and be counted out.
