Former Chelsea boss favourite to replace Southgate as England manager

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is now said to be the favorite for the England job should Gareth Southgate decide to step down.

The current boss of the Three Lions has been one of the most successful managers in the role in recent years, leading the team to a World Cup semi-final in 2018 and a Euro 2020 final.

However, his future is now in doubt after England’s World Cup quarter-final knockout by France and many managers have been called up on the last day to take up the job.

Many have criticized Southgate despite taking the nation further than in previous years and if the 52-year-old decides to step down, the FA will discover there are better managers out there.

According to BILD, former Chelsea and PSG manager Thomas Tuchel is now the favorite for the England job and this would be a huge boost for the country should they land the German manager.

Tuchel has been out of a job since he was sacked by Chelsea in September, but he is still considered one of the best managers in world soccer.

The current group of England players is very exciting and that could convince Tuchel to give international management a try.
